Activity that Meets this Standard

STATE GOAL 16: Understand events, trends, individuals and movements shaping the history of Illinois, the United States and other nations. Each student will collect photos on the advancement of agriculture in Illinois. The student must collect at least twelve photos that can chronicle the History of Illinois Agriculture. The photos will be captioned by the student. The pictures will tell the story not writing.


Materials:

Computer lab, printer


Procedures:

  1. Students will search the TDC database for information on the history of Illinois Agriculture.
  2. Students will collect at least twelve pictures.
  3. The pictures will be placed as to student design in an order that will tell the story of Illinois Agriculture through pictures.

Assessment:

A teacher created rubric that is presented and discussed at the start of the unit will assess each student on the entire project.
