Since its inception, the Digital Services and Development Unit has accomplished several exploratory imaging projects supported in part by these external sponsors:

The Institute of Museum and Library Services, which awarded National Leadership grant funding for the Digital Cultural Heritage Community, Teaching with Digital Content and Basics and Beyond projects.
IBM, who provided a generous equipment grant of two T221 monitors and workstations.
The Intel Corporation, who provided a generous equipment grant which helped fund the Digital Media Resource Center, a working lab for digitization projects.

The Humanities Imaging Database Project is a joint project of the Advanced Information Technologies Group (AITG), the University Library, and Computing and Communications Services Office's Web Support Initiative (now Campus Imformation Technologies and Educational Services) to establish a campus-wide image database for the use of humanities faculty in their teaching and research.
